Frequently Asked Questions Before Booking

Snorkeling & Scuba Diving in Fajardo, Puerto Rico

Why can I only book for 6 passengers?  I have 7 in my group but am willing to pay for them extra.  Can I do that?
No. Unfortunately.  We are licensed for 6 passengers by the USCG.  We are allowed to have crew in addition to your 6 guests.

We only have 2 people in our party.  Can we book your tour?
Sure, we have private charters for 2 regularly, but the price is the same as for 6 passengers.  The easy way to understand that is our costs don't change depending on how many go...

Where are you going?  We want to go to Culebra or Vieques or both.

We do not go to Culebra.  Please refer to this video and article explaining where do go, and why we don't go there.

We have 2 people who don't want to snorkel.  What can they do?

Non snorkelers are welcome on the charter.  They can hang out with the Captain, swim or float around with noodles or water chairs in the ocean.

What if I don't know how to swim or to use a snorkel?

That's No Problem when Mermaid Ruthie is on board.  She has taught dozens of people to swim who were once terrified to even get off the boat.   Please watch her video on water anxiety and learning to swim in Puerto Rico.

We are grateful for your business!   As part of your charter we will be preparing a special meal.  We also have bottled water, a variety of soda pop,  Please let us know right away if you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions.   SCUBA charter guests will usually get turkey or ham sandwiches made with local fresh bread and all the fixings.   Snorkeling charters typically get grilled chicken pinchos  and accompaniments (varying sea conditions determine what we can cook on board) We are happy to provide use of our masks, fins and snorkels.  If you are renting our scuba gear (or if you want to upgrade to a Discovery Dive or Intro to Scuba) please send us your sizes so we have appropriate size gear on board.  Full gear rental including tanks is $30 pp.  Tanks only are $10 ea.    We have weights on board. You can pay that with cash, Venmo, Paypal, Cash app - etc    We do not provide wetsuits. We have Dragon Fruit merchandise available for purchase. Things to Bring  Towels  Non spray sunscreen (apply to your face at least 1-2 hours before charter) This should prevent your eyes from stinging when you get in the salty sea!  We don’t allow spray sunscreen on the boat because it makes everything too slippery! Dramamine - nothing ruins a great day faster than sea sickness.  If you think you may have motion sickness, take the medicine 1-2 hours BEFORE departure.   Taking it “if and when you need it” will sadly be too late.  We have Medalla beer on the boat, but if you want to bring any extra or different kinds of beer or alcohol, please make sure it’s in plastic or a can.   No glass on the boat!  Your uncut feet thank you & mine do too!  Your charter fee did not include gratuity.  We are super grateful for tips.  If you plan to tip in cash, that’s great.  We also have Venmo and CashApp if you prefer digital methods.   If you are driving yourself, put “Simpatico Charters, Fajardo” or “Renaissance Villa Marína” in Google Maps and park on the street by the main entrance at the Guard Shack.  Walk through the guard gate on down to D dock.  We are the green boat with red roof.   If you are arriving with a taxi or comparable, please tell them to go to Villa Marina in Fajardo and bring you back to D dock.  We’re the green boat!    All charter guests should arrive ok 15 minutes before departure.  Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns!   We look forward to serving you! Ruthie & Captain Scott
